Insurance For Vehicles In Delaware
Reader’s Question:
Insurance for vehicles in Delaware is so expensive these days. I have a car and a motorbike and the premiums have gone up on both. I would have thought that with the recession and less vehicles on the road, accidents and collisions would be decreasing, and therefore premiums should be coming down?! First it’s the banks ripping us off now the insurance companies. Help!

Your complaint is one of the most common when it comes to arranging insurance for vehicles in Delaware these days. Insurance brokers in Delaware keep telling me that every year the number of claims they experience increases, plus on top of that, their legal costs are also on the increase. Hence, higher premiums are charged onto most customers.
There are a few options that you can explore. Insurance for vehicles in Delaware is never as cheap we’d like it but maybe you can save money by insuring both your motorbike and car with the same insurer. Some insurers will realize that you can only drive (or ride) one of your vehicles at a time and so you are less risky than two individuals having two vehicles. If you shop around on the internet and speak to the brokers you should be able to find a few to help. Some insurers and brokers will acknowledge your point but their systems will be unable to cope.
Also, there are further ways to reduce your premiums. If you can reduce your mileage and maybe take an advanced driving course this often helps. Many insurers now offer discounts for low mileage drivers and those with more driving qualifications and training are statistically less likely to get involved in an accident.
